  16.  Inside Info No 57 has a swag of articles by ACE members. Contributions
  17.  from the membership for this issue outstriped previous efforts since I took
  18.  up the editorship (No 34). This editor was 'almost' too overwhelmed by the
  19.  bounty of members' contributions to plead for more (emphasis on 'almost').

  21.  Co-Editor, Phillip White is especially laudworthy, he supplied the title
  22.  screens and wrote several articles. See his review of John Hutchinson's 
  23.  Crossword Creator.

  25.  To ACE members, Gary Spiteri, John Nielson, Swavek Jabrzemski, and Warwick
  26.  Cuneo who also contributed to this issue, much bonhommie is also due.

  29.  Bill Young favours us with further samples of his drawing technique - see
  30.  ARTSHOW. By the way Bill, I would like to disassociate myself from the 
  31.  content of I.I. No 56's editorial, to which, you take exception in your 
  32.  letter,   (see ACE MAILBOX) - 'cause Phil writ it !

  34.  Phil's criticisms of Atari Australia, though harsh, have some validity.
  35.  Atari recently announced it had sold 2.5 million ST computers (world wide).  
  36.  I doubt sales in Australia, would constitute a significant proportion of
  37.  this figure.

  41.  It seems only a few years ago that Bill Gates, the head honcho of IBM
  42.  said "real computers don't use windows, icons and menus". 
  43.  IBM was not then ready for a user friendly interface (Windows) due to the
  44.  limitations imposed by IBM system archictecture, prior to their adoption
  45.  of '286 and '386 CPU's. Personally I find the Windows implementation on
  46.  these 'new generation' IBM's clunky and unlovely, and there is no plethora
  47.  of variations to suit individual requirements, as exists on our ST(e)s - 
  48.  NeoDesk, KAOSDesK, Mint,  GoGo, etc.

  50.  The TT, (supposedly no  more than an 'interim' or 'stopgap' offering) is
  51.  unable to compete  price-wise with '386, '486 boxes. Now there are rumours,
  52.  of a new competatively priced machine, to win back Atari market share.
  53.  Speculation, as to the nature of this microchip saviour (see Atari News), 
  54.  ranges from a souped up, low  cost 68030  based machine, to a 68040 
  55.  RISC based machine, with 64 bit bus. An announcement from Atari Corp, 
  56.  is expected within a few months.

  60.      ST/ST(e)/TT PROGRAMMERS

  62.      The Infodisk program can run programs from within the magazine,
  63.  providing they are less than 32K. How about sending in a few of those
  64.  little gems for publication in Inside Info. Sharing is caring! Any 
  65.  languages welcome.

  71.     at bootup as well as within the main program. *Note ASCII text files
  72.     to appear at bootup are limited to 23 lines per screen.

  74.     Pic format - Degas or Elite.
